General conditions for reservations

FREE TOURS

The FREE TOUR is designed for small groups (less than five people) or individuals. The tours operate on a per-person basis, and there is no prior cost to participate in the guided tour. Although reservations are not required for individual travelers, we always recommend pre-booking. Individuals who show up at the meeting point for the tour are not subject to any charge, and their places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

In the event that the tour is full, booking in advance will give you priority over travelers who do not have a reservation. Booking in advance will also save you from having to wait in line at the meeting point to participate in the tour. In order to guarantee your place, you must be at the meeting point no later than 15 minutes before the start of the tour, after which time you must be at the meeting point.

After that time, we reserve the right to reassign your place to anyone else. With this measure, we intend to be fair to all those interested in participating in the tour and in ensuring the punctuality of the start of the tour.

 

GROUPS (FIVE OR MORE PEOPLE TRAVELING TOGETHER)

In the case of a group, a minimum contribution of 10 € per person is agreed upon. This amount must be paid in full upon arrival at the meeting point. Due to the limited number of places imposed by the city of Amsterdam, it is recommended to make the reservation as far in advance as possible or contact us to hire a private tour, which would be the only way to guarantee that the group will do the tour together and with an exclusive guide.

 

FREE TOUR CANCELLATIONS

If you have booked the Free Tour and cannot attend, it is very important that you cancel your reservation as soon as possible. As places are limited, not attending means leaving a person at work and wasting time and income. Non-attendance without notice implies the cancellation of any other reservation.

 

THEMATIC TOURS

THEMATIC TOURS are paid tours. Once the reservation is successfully completed, the ticket and confirmation will be sent automatically by email. If, for any reason, you do not receive this email, please contact us at info@sidewalks.es, as in that case, it is likely that the order has not been processed satisfactorily. Also, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

You will need to show your reservation from your cell phone or tablet and present it together with a valid photo ID before the start of the tour. We recommend not printing the booking voucher in order to contribute to protecting the environment. If you do not have access to a mobile device or printer, please be so kind as to pay in cash at the beginning of the tour instead of booking online. While we will do our best to verify reservations for those who show up without a valid printed ticket, we cannot guarantee it. In that case, you will need to purchase the tour ticket again.

The tour ticket includes the guide(s) and, when specified, may include the cost of transportation. Food, beverages, use of restrooms, incidental expenses, and any other aspect not specified in the tour description are not included in the tour price.

 

REBOOKING A THEMATIC TOUR

If you want to change the date and/or time of a paid tour, please send us an email to info@sidewalks.es with your reference number and the new date you want to do the tour. You must ask us for any changes you want to make to your reservation at least 24 hours before the tour departure time. We will be happy to assist you whenever possible. Please note that we are subject to a limitation of places imposed by the municipality.

Cancellation and refund policy
If you are unable to attend the tour you have booked, our refund policy is as follows:
If you inform us at least 48 hours before the departure of the tour: 100% refund.
If you inform us between 48 hours and 24 hours before the tour departure: 50% refund.
If you inform us less than 24 hours before the tour departure: 0% refund.

 

PRIVATE TOURS

Private tours are paid visits with a guide exclusively for you and your companions. Once the booking is successfully completed, the ticket and confirmation will be sent automatically by email. If, for any reason, you do not receive this email, please contact us at info@sidewalks.es, as in that case, it is likely that the order has not been processed successfully. Also, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

You will need to show your reservation from your cell phone or tablet and present it together with a valid photo ID before the start of the tour. We recommend not printing the booking voucher in order to contribute to protecting the environment. Children under 16 years of age may participate in the tour as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult who must remain with them until the end of the tour.

Unless otherwise specified in the reservation, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 15 people. Please note that groups of more than 15 people must book more than one private tour.

The tour ticket includes the exclusive guide(s). Food, drinks, use of toilets, incidental expenses, and any other aspect not specified in the tour description is not included in the tour price.

 

CANCELLATIONS OF PRIVATE TOURS

You may cancel your reservation at any time prior to the tour by sending an email to info@sidewalks.es. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of the tour, and the company reserves the right not to refund 25% of the initial payment. Cancellations received 48 to 72 hours prior to the start of the tour will receive a 50% refund. On the other hand, cancellations received within 48 hours prior to the start of the activity and groups that do not show up during the first 15 minutes of the agreed time will not be reimbursed.

 

CHARGES FOR MODIFICATIONS

Modifications will always be subject to the availability and operational capacity of the company. Please note that the templates are always limited, and we handle a high number of tours monthly. Therefore, a charge of 10 € will be made for each change in management of the reservation, available up to 72 hours before the day of the tour. Any changes made less than 72 hours in advance will incur a €50 handling fee per change.

 

DELAYS

The tour guide will be reserved only for the period of time indicated in the booking description. Should the group be more than 10 minutes late, the waiting time will be reduced from the agreed tour duration. In case of delay, you can contact us during working hours at +31 682275155 or at any time at info@sidewalks.es. If no contact is established during the first 15 minutes of the agreed tour start time, the group will be considered a no-show, and the service will be canceled without a refund.

 

PARTICIPATION IS VOLUNTARY

Participation in our tours is strictly voluntary, and the guides reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone for any reason at any time.

As with any human activity, there is a level of risk. However, SideWalks makes every effort to keep that risk to a minimum. SideWalks, as well as its contractors, parent companies, affiliates, partners, and employees, assume no liability for any injury, loss, damage, or inconvenience suffered by any person using its services or to their property.
